Persistent Absence Procedure
Please note, if your child has too much time off school and their attendance drops below 90% the persistent absence response will be triggered and you may receive a fine if your child's attendance doesn't improve.
There are four steps to this process and at each step you will be sent a letter keeping you informed and asking for your cooperation in improving your child's attendance.
If at the end of this process school are still concerned about a child's low level of attendance then a Fixed Penalty Notice can be issued which is £60 per parent per child if paid within 4 weeks and then £120 per parent per child if paid thereafter.
Failure to pay this fine may result in court action.
If you have any problems and need support in getting your child to attend school please see Miss Longden in the school office.
