1 - Look at different different beach areas on google earth using the 'global beach' guided tour (https://earth.google.com/web, click on search, type in 'global beach' and the tour should come up in the results). You could also look for your favourite seaside places you've been to, too! Discuss and describe the different features you can see in the landscape, such as cliff, island, sand, sea, cove. Can you compare the different places and say how they are the same/ different?

2 - Listen to the story, "Lucy and Tom at the Seaside" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAzz_vMO1I8). What did Lucy and Tom do at the beach? What things did they see? Have you been to the seaside? What did you do there? Can you draw a picture and write a sentence about your day at the beach? Remember your capital letter, finger spaces, a full stop and to sound out your words using your robot arms.

4 - Explore the concept of doubling a number/amount. Discuss that double means we have twice as many, so we add the same number together, 1+1, 2+2, 3+3 and so on. Watch the numberblocks doubling episode at: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b08q4jkq/numberblocks-series-2-double-trouble

Have a go at practically doubling using different objects. For instance, give your child 2 pennies then ask how many will they need to double that amount. Can they double it and put the right amount? Ask how many there are now and count what the double is. Try and write in to a number sentence what you have done, e.g. 2+2 = 4.
